Connecting causes that matter with people who care

We provide grants to help charities and community organisations who are supporting local people facing disadvantage, to improve their lives.

We do this by working with individuals, families, businesses, professional advisors, and charitable trusts, helping them to fund local groups that are tackling the issues they care about most.

Our work is set against the current backdrop of rising levels of need in Suffolk, with an estimated 75,000 now living in poverty.

Partnering with the VCFSE sector demonstrates that the will in Suffolk to provide support remains undiminished.

Professional Advisors

We have the privilege of building long-term and trusted relationships with many professional advisors and their clients.

An advisor’s expertise, when combined with the Foundation’s deep knowledge of local need, continues to provide wonderful opportunities for those who care about Suffolk to realise their charitable ambitions locally.

We provide a range of options for private clients, including:

  • Legacies & gifts in wills
  • Transferring the burden of running a charitable fund
  • Creating a personal fund
  • Creating a memorial fund

The quieter summer months offer a great opportunity for teams to come together to work on upcoming objectives and plans. Earlier on in the month, our grants team, which has recently welcomed a new Director of Grants and Impact, Danielle Waller, had an ‘away day’ to work on their key learnings from the year as well as their priorities and strategy for the next five years.

It was a positive, productive and enjoyable day; thank you to the whole team for their valuable contributions. 💜

We are delighted to help spread the word for The Sybil Carthew Trust which is looking for new Trustees.

The Sybil Carthew Trust is an Almshouse charity based in Woodbridge that has been providing homes and independent living for local residents in housing need.

Mrs Sybil Carthew of Woodbridge Abbey left a sum of money in her Will to build Almshouses on her land. In 1971, the Almshouses were complete and currently stand as 15 self-contained flats, a guest suite and a community room.

Expressions of interest from potential new Trustees are welcomed.

We're thrilled to announce that @burydropin has received a £1,000 award through the State of the VCFSE Sector Survey from @commactionsuff and @suffolk_giving.

Bury Drop In was chosen at random from the 196 charities and voluntary organisations who generously gave up their time to fill in the questionnaire (thank you). This award will go directly towards providing emergency summer provisions for its guests – a vital lifeline during the warmer months.

As a registered charity, Bury Drop In relies on donations to continue its essential work; it costs around £7,500 every month to keep its services running. This year, it is celebrating 10 years of growth, triumph and life-changing impact. 💜
